CHAMPAIGN, ILLINOIS POSITIONS

SALES & SERVICE

SALES REPRESENTATIVE: Are you searching for a rewarding career where you can develop your sales skills in a progressive environment? If so, Hobbico is looking for you! Your focus will be on increasing sales with established customer accounts through outbound calls and selling new products and promotional programs. If you are motivated, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and have at least one year of prior experience meeting or exceeding sales goals, apply today!


PROFESSIONAL

BUYER: Responsible for re-buying of assigned product lines. Perform product line maintenance, monitor accuracy of receivers, expedite incoming shipments, and manage inventory levels to maximize inventory fill and turn rates. Previous purchasing experience is required. Must have above average math skills and excellent communication skills.


GENERAL

DISPLAY ASSISTANT: Build models and displays for trade shows and other events. Maintain supplies and coordinate packing and shipping items for events. Requires previous carpentry experience. Knowledge of the hobby industry and previous experience building models is desirable. Full-time, days.

FORKLIFT DRIVER: Assist with stocking and movement of product. Previous forklift experience preferred, but not required. Full-time position available on 2nd shift.

JANITOR: Assist with general cleaning and tile floor care. Previous janitorial and floor care experience required. Part-time position available, evening and Saturday hours.

MACHINE OPERATOR: Operate numerous types of machinery including saws, routers, and sanders. Be able to unload trucks when needed. The ability to read a tape measure and input information into the computer are required. Previous carpentry or shop experience desired. Full-time, days.

SECURITY: Perform periodic inspection tours of buildings and grounds to ensure compliance with established safety policies and procedures. Full-time, 1st shift position available.

WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE: Pick orders from shelves or prepare customer orders for shipment. Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. regularly. Requires a dependable work history. Previous warehouse experience helpful. Full and part-time positions available on 1st and 2nd shift.


TECHNICAL

ELECTRONIC TECHNICIAN: Service, repair, and quality check electronic products, including radio control systems, battery chargers, and electronic speed controls. Must be able to use a soldering iron and work with small parts. Previous experience in electronic service and repair, radio control, radio frequency, and power supply desired, but will train the right person. Full-time, days.


RENO, NEVADA WAREHOUSE POSITIONS

WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE: Pick orders from shelves or prepare customer orders for shipment. Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. regularly. Requires a dependable work history. Previous warehouse experience helpful. Full-time positions available on 1st shift.

Product Development Manager

As Product Development Manager:

  • Oversee development of plastic model kit products.
  • Develop product plans including product objectives, pricing strategies and launch plans
  • Analyze market and industry trends to identify profitable growth strategies and product development opportunities.
  • Establish relationships with vendors to globally source and develop product.
  • Manage product delivery schedules and timelines.
  • Ensure the accuracy and presentation of packaging and promotional materials.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelors' Degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • 10+ years experience in the consumer product development area.
  • A passion for and at least 5 years of hands-on experience building and collecting scale plastic models and die-cast products.
  • Historic and present day knowledge of automobiles, aircraft, and ships.
  • Up-to-date subject matter expertise on the latest trends in the military and automotive industries, including the racing circuit. Familiarity with related industry publications, trade magazines, and the use of internet chat rooms and blogs.
  • Strong team orientation, communication, project management, creative and analytical skills.
  • A proven record working with various types of licensors as well as experience in box art design and the creation of instruction manuals.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of product design, the product engineering process associated with design, and tools for injection molds.
